Apple looks set to release an iPhone 6s later this fall, according to a report from 9to5Mac, which got its hands on leaked images of the device thanks to a “proven source”.
It looks like the 6s edition of the phone will maintain most of the original’s look with most of the changes internally, as was assumed by previous iPhone release cycles.
Inside the device, the mounting frame has been adjusted just a little bit making room for a new logic board. It looks like Apple has decided on just a few little tweaks for the device under the hood, all of which aren’t clear from this leak alone.

9to5Mac notes that Apple recently patented a new technique to hide antenna lines on the back of the phone but that hasn’t materialized here. This alleged 6S has the same the connectors, speakers, and microphones while there’s also no evidence of a dual-lens camera here as was previously rumored.
The leaks disprove a multitude of rumors, most notably that the iPhone 6s would have a dual-lens camera system on its back. However, the fact that the hole for the camera in the exterior is the exact same size doesn’t necessarily mean that the sensor will be the same as the one on the iPhone 6 because of the way the camera protrudes.
The photos detail what looks like an updated version of the iPhone 6s with no details on an S version of the 6 Plus or what that would look like. At this point, however, it’d be a surprise if the iPhone 6s Plus was a departure from the size of the iPhone 6 Plus. One of the biggest expected features of the upcoming Apple devices is the implementation of Force Touch, which these leaks neither prove or dispel.
9to5Mac says it will be publishing more photos later this week and the iPhone 6s is expected to be released later this year.
